Protect My Choices’ Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer versions are extensions that help preserve the unsubscribe preferences that you set on the Digital Choice advertisement’s WebChoices consumer choice tool. Each browser extension is designed to help inadvertently delete cookies that store browser unsubscribe options.
Some things you should know
Protect My Choices applies to unsubscriptions available through the WebChoices tool, which applies to interest-based advertisements and other applicable uses of web display data by companies participating in the DAA. Once this extension is installed, you will continue to receive online ads from participating companies instead of interest-based ads, and the websites you visit may still collect information for other purposes.
As more companies join the industry self-organizing program, their unsubscriptions will be added to these “My Options Protection” additions. Plugins work differently in each browser and in some cases there may be a need to update the plugin. Please review the information for your browser. You can ensure that the unsubscribe for each browser is set to optout.aboutads.info, and you can always check the status of your plugins by using the tools in your browser – generally seen as extensions, add-ons, or managing add-ons under Tools in the browser window menu.
The program requires advertising companies to clearly inform consumers about their data collection practices and enable consumers to exercise control over the types of advertising based on the interests they see. This website – WebChoices – and AppChoices function as central elements of the DAA program by providing consumers with transparency around companies involved in advertising of mutual interest and the ability to exercise choice from participating companies through a consistent and simple user experience.
These extensions and your unsubscribe options only apply to their browsers depending on the device, so you should set your preferences separately for other browsers and other devices that you may use.

Protect my options for Chrome
The Protect My Choices for Chrome plugin is available for download from the Chrome Web Store. From time to time, you will be prompted to allow updates to this extension to add new unsubscriptions.
